OK Cupid Deploys Edgy Humor to Capitalize on Election Fever
Based on the premise that many in DC are gripped with Election mania, OK Cupid crafted a clever guerrilla marketing campaign to take advantage of this pre-existing mindset. The campaign called "BE A #VILF", a play on the popular and somewhat raunchy term "MILF", appealed to people's risqué sense of humor as well as their desire to signal their political engagement to others. GoGORILLA'S Brand Ambassadors descended upon denizens of the capital offering free branded condoms, shirts, pins, postcards and lawn signs. This was one of the funniest campaigns of 2020 so far!
