ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND CLIMATE MARCHES

Climate Week draws global attention each year as the time and place for the world to showcase amazing climate action and discuss how to do more. For their part, the Environmental Defense Fund called upon GoGORILLA Media to hit the streets to obtain sign-ups for the organizations' mailing list, to further engage people to take action throughout the year. On September 20th, 2019, which was dubbed "Climate Change Day", teams of ten GoMODELS each simultaneously hit the streets of NYC in lower Manhattan and the Halifax Mall in Raleigh, NC during the climate change marches. Using iPads equipped with offline data capture software to circumvent the overwhelmed cell phone data towers due to the enormous crowds, brand ambassadors offered marchers EDF bumper stickers or koozies in exchange for signing up. In NYC, teams started on Broadway and followed the march route down into Battery Park, where they continued to work for the lingering crowds. In Raleigh, when the rally turned into a march, the GoMODEL team marched with the activists and continued to engage anyone they came across. As the march wrapped up, the canvassers collected more sign-ups by the North Carolina State Capitol, in the nearby Museum District, and on busy streets where offices were letting out for the day. In both markets, people were eager to sign up for the email list to receive climate- related news and alerts, and to help EDF make lasting change for Mother Nature.
